This formal dinner and black tie event will be held in the magnificent Mountbatten Room of the Royal Marines Museum, Portsmouth.
Dr Jonathan King, a relative of Phillip Gidley King will deliver an historic address as the keynote speaker after dinner. This will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Re-enactment Fleet sailing that he led in 1987. First fleet re-enactment people from the UK and Europe are also expected to attend.
Phillip Gidley King was born in Launceston in 1758 and sailed with the first fleet as a second lieutenant on the flag ship HMS Sirius. Between 1800 & 1806 he became the third governor of New South Wales.
